Our Father’s Children is a faith-based, non-profit organization that exists to reach out to children of abuse and neglect in North Texas. Our Father’s Children provides free week-long camps, mentoring clubs and weekend retreats to children of abuse and neglect between the ages of 6-18.

Each year, nearly 3 million cases of child abuse and neglect are reported in the United States. In Texas in 2010, over 231,500 cases were reported with Dallas and Tarrant County reporting 39,889 cases to be investigated. Of those cases investigated in Dallas and Tarrant County, there were 11,813 confirmed victims. There are 5,436 children in foster care in Dallas and Tarrant County.
Five children die every day in the United States and over five children die every week in Texas as a result of abuse and neglect.
A child is abused every 8 minutes in Texas.
That’s 6-7 children every hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
