OUR STORY

Ministry Venture Certified

We are a faith-based non-profit organization recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) that provides free week-long camps (through Royal Family Kid’s Camps for ages 6-11) and weekend retreats (through Onward & Upward for ages 12-15 and through the SUMMIT for ages 16-18) to abused and neglected children.

The camps/retreats are staffed by volunteers that go through an interview and screening process and training that is specifically designed to understand the needs and behaviors of abused and neglected children. Our camps/retreats offer a 2:1 camper-to-counselor ratio with the exception of The SUMMIT retreats which will have a 1:1 camper-to-counselor ratio. A mentoring program with calls and follow-up visits is an added feature to the retreats.

We team with local community groups, churches and organizations as well as Child Protective Services and other child agencies/groups.

Mission Statement – Create positive memories for children ages 6 – 18, in a 1 week camp setting or 2 weekend retreat settings per year. Through these programs, lives will be changed eternally.

Purpose – Create, manage and support week-long camps and weekend retreats for abused and neglected children.

Vision – Provide a week of camp/retreats and establish a mentoring program for abused and neglected children of North Central Texas.

Theme – Bringing hope to the future one child at a time.

  • What our volunteers are saying about their OFC experience?

"Our Father's Children has been a tremendous blessing in both of our lives. We know that God has worked through us in this incredible ministry . We have seen children grow not only physically but emotionally in Christ."
  • A foster parent’s view of Royal Family Kids Camp

"There are not enough words to express how my family and I feel about Royal Family Kids Camp. This camp is the best thing that has happened to kids. All of you who have even the slightest part of this ministry are truly angels sent to show God's love on earth. We have always sent all of our children to camp (both Christian and secular) but none other have ever touched any of their lives like Royal Family Kids Camp."
