Royal Family Kids’ Camp is a week-long camp experience in June or July for 6-11 year olds. The main focus is providing the missing pieces of childhood. All of our camps are located in Texas.

With RFKC, we implore a vital 2:1 camper-to-counselor ratio that provides the child with a distinctive camp experience. This 2:1 ratio provides a personal atmosphere that encourages two-way communication and trusting relationships with these children. All the children in attendance have similar backgrounds and therefore do not feel like they are “different” or will be ridiculed. The curriculum and activities are designed to build self-confidence and self-esteem in a nurturing environment.  All camp counselors and volunteer staff are trained specifically for the unique needs and behaviors of children of abuse and neglect.

Camp grandparents, aunts and uncles are there to encourage and love on all the children. We spend time each day praising God with energetic, fun songs. The children enjoy “Kids Club” or Chapel as a special, fun time of learning more about God and His plan for their lives. Throughout the day, there are activity centers ranging from dress-up (“Imagination Station”), woodworking, making a bead necklace, or tie-dyed t-shirts to have as a special camp keepsake. Throughout the week, campers and counselors enjoy playing games in a non-competitive and fun environment.  A highlight of each day for the campers is swim time. Children can swim in a lifeguard supervised Olympic size pool or try their hand at the zip line or huge slide at the pond. Counselors and campers alike enjoy this refreshing time each day as they cool off from the hot Texas sun but also make memories as well. Every child’s birth is celebrated at “Everybody’s Birthday.”

Royal Family KIDS Clubs are focused on building relationships. This is a new program, introduced by Royal Family HQ, to take the same children who attend camp and give them a 1:1 child to mentor experience during the school year. All of the mentors will have had Camp training, and the first bond for a mentor and a mentee is to share memories from camp.

The monthly Club also uses “Camp Culture” to make the kids feel at home – with the same songs and some of the same activities they loved at camp. Mentors help their young mentees discover their hidden strengths and talents, and encourage them to dream big. The character building aspects of the Royal Family KIDS Club curriculum and the listening ear of the mentor can give a child new self-confidence and skills.
